Speaking to Vulture in an interview published Tuesday, the actress gave a harsh description of shaking hands with the then-celebrity personality when they met in the years prior to the 2016 election.

“He has this gross handshake,” Turner said about Trump, whom she indicated she met at a party in New York City.

“He goes to shake your hand and, with his index finger, kind of rubs the inside of your wrist,” she said. “He’s trying to do some kind of seductive intimacy move. You pull your hand away and go yuck.”

Trump was mocked by his rivals as being a “germaphobe” during the presidential election after an excerpt from his 1997 book “The Art of the Comeback” resurfaced in which Trump wrote that pressing the flesh “is one of the curses of American society” and called shaking hands “barbaric.”

Trump has since said he has warmed up to handshakes and said in the months leading up to the 2016 election that shaking thousands of hands “hasn’t been tough.”

“I’m a politician,” Trump said at the time in an interview.

“Can you imagine if I said I won’t shake anybody’s hand?” Trump said.
