'Frozen' actor rips pro-Trump banner from Broadway theatergoer

An actor in Broadway’s “Frozen” is defending ripping a pro-Trump flag from an audience member’s hands.

“What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro Trump flag,” Timothy Hughes, who plays a troll named Pabbie in the show, said in a Wednesday Instagram post.

A video posted by Hughes shows some of the cast standing onstage for the performance’s curtain call as an audience member holds a large “Trump 2020” sign in the first row.

Hughes is seen grabbing the flag before throwing it backstage.

“How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump?” Hughes wrote to his more than 10,000 followers.

“The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience. I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform,” said Hughes.

The Broadway musical is based on the hit 2013 animated film of the same name.

“Not at our show!” the performer wrote. “Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway.”

It’s not the first time Trump-era politics has spilled over into Broadway.

In 2016, then-Vice President-elect Pence was booed by some in the audience during a performance of “Hamilton.”

At the end of the show, one of the “Hamilton” actors also read a statement to Pence from the cast, saying there was concern that the Trump administration would not “protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.”

Earlier this year, actor Robert De Niro blasted President Trump while appearing onstage during the Tony Awards. At the awards show — which recognizes Broadway entertainers and productions — De Niro received a standing ovation after repeatedly declaring “f--- Trump."
