Tom Selleck resigns from NRA’s board of directors

Actor Tom Selleck has resigned from his spot on the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) board of directors, his publicist said Wednesday.

“Tom Selleck has stepped down from the board of the NRA due to his work schedule,” Annett Wolf said in a statement to Reuters.

{mosads}Wolf added that Selleck will remain a member of the NRA.

Selleck, a star on CBS’s crime drama “Blue Bloods,” had been a member of the NRA board since 2005 and was reelected last year to another three-year term.

Wolf declined to say whether Selleck’s resignation had anything to do with the organization’s policy, according to Reuters.

Wolf told The Trace, an online news organization, that Selleck had been a “silent board member.”

“He has nothing to do with policy,” Wolf said. “He’s never been active on the board or anything the NRA engages in. He’s almost always been a silent board member.”
