Actor James Woods has reportedly been locked out of his Twitter account for violating the social media platform’s rules.

The Associated Press reported on Sunday that Woods was locked out of his account for a tweet he shared in July featuring a meme from what has been identified as a hoax campaign. The meme, falsely identified as from Democrats, reportedly encouraged men to abstain from voting in the midterm elections.

According to the news agency, Woods received an email from the company on Thursday stating that the tweet in question “has the potential to be misleading in a way that could impact an election.”

{mosads}The company reportedly added in the email that Woods would be able to use his account again so long as he deletes the tweet.

Woods, whose account has over 1.7 million followers, told AP he will not be removing the tweet.

The actor has been an outspoken critic of Democrats and a vocal backer of President Trump, and previously said after the 2016 election that he would be quitting Twitter because of censorship.

However, the actor later rejoined the social platform and has since tweeted regularly.
