"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek on Monday evening moderated a gubernatorial debate in Pennsylvania between incumbent Gov. Tom Wolf (D) and Republican challenger Scott Wagner.

The debate was held during the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry's annual dinner. In addition to moderating the debate, Trebek served as the keynote speaker for the dinner, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Trebek told The Hill years ago that he wanted to host a political debate.

“Unlike some of the other moderators — I’m not going to disparage them — but I have a different approach,” he said in 2013. “I would not let the politicians get away with standard responses. I would try to pin them down, even though I might look bad doing it.”

Trebek got his wish Monday night, when he moderated the 45-minute debate and asked Wolf and Wagner questions on subjects ranging from gerrymandering to education to the death penalty.

Wolf has been consistently polling above Wagner. Wolf is seeking his second term as governor.
