At a Thursday event in Los Angeles, Perry lauded Swift for breaking her virtual career-long silence on political issues.

“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” Swift, 28, wrote.

“Of course,” Perry told reporters when asked about “liking” the Instagram post, according to Us Weekly. “She’s setting such a great example.”

Swift and Perry indicated that they had squashed a long-running beef earlier this year. Perry had said last year that the feud originally stemmed from an issue over hiring back-up dancers.
