Horror host Elvira is scaring up support for Democrats, saying voters should head to the polls for the midterm elections "like your life depends on it."

The famed goth horror movie guru, a campy character played by actress Cassandra Peterson, took a break from all things spooky on Monday as she waded into politics. The 67-year-old performer wrote to her more than 185,000 Twitter followers a series of tweets urging her fans to vote for Democrats:

In an interview with W magazine last month, Elvira said she was "a little obsessed with politics right now."
