“The Bidens have gotten to know Major while fostering him and are now ready to make the adoption official,” the organization posted on Facebook.

Biden made headlines last year when he got a chance to meet his four-legged namesake — Biden the golden retriever — while rallying with Democrats on Capitol Hill to save ObamaCare.

“As soon as I told him his name was Biden, he started kissing the dog, which is like exactly what I expected Biden would do,” the dog’s owner said.
