“You know when Jay-Z comes out during a Beyoncé concert?” the ex-president said to roaring laughs when he stepped onto the stage.

Obama, 57, held a bouquet of pink flowers for his wife as he joined her for the third stop on the promotional tour for her memoir, “Becoming,” at the Capital One Arena on Saturday.

“ ‘Crazy in Love’ — it’s the same thing,” he quipped of the 2003 Beyonce song that features a verse from the singer’s husband, rapper Jay-Z. “It’s just a little sample to enhance the concert.”

Asked by moderator and former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett about first meeting his future wife while working at a Chicago law firm, Obama said, “First of all she’s really tall and most of it was legs.”

“There are children here!” the former first lady exclaimed in mock shock.

“I’m just saying ... it was impressive,” Obama replied to his spouse. Calling her “extraordinarily smart” and “beautiful,” Obama heaped praise on the “Becoming” author, whom he married in 1992. “You know when you meet somebody and you feel like they get it?” he told the audience.

Michelle Obama's book was released this week Tuesday. On Friday her publisher Penguin Random House announced it sold 725,000 on its first day of sale.
