Actor and frequent Trump critic Jim Carrey on Sunday railed against the president during a panel discussion, labeling him a “melanoma” while also lashing out at Republican lawmakers.
Carrey made the comments while speaking at Vulture Fest in Los Angeles.
"Trump is a melanoma,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “And anybody that covers for him, including [White House press secretary] Sarah Sanders, is putting makeup on it.”
He went on to say that he thinks the president is “dangerous” and “a threat to homeland security.”
The actor also lashed out at Republican lawmakers more generally, accusing them of “raping” and “destroying” the political system.
"These are not people you can deal with,” he said. “You cannot be bipartisan with a criminal. A rapist needs to be removed, not negotiated with. These people are raping our system, they're destroying it right in front of us.”
Carrey also gave a glimpse at who he would possibly support in possible presidential bids, praising Sen. "I think she's fantastic, I think he's an incredible guy, and I would love to vote in this decade for someone that's not the lesser of the evils,” he said.
Carrey has become a harsh critic of the Trump administration and has used drawings to mock the president and other GOP figures. Also on Sunday, he dismissed warnings that he could lose fans over his political comments.
