“Don’t be fooled by the plaques that we got, I’m still, I’m still Alex from the Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

The caption referenced J. Lo’s ode to her childhood in the Bronx: “Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got / I’m still, I'm still Jenny from the block.”

Ocasio-Cortez also shared the photo on Instagram, noting that “Transition time” is kicking off.

“It’s the little things that make it feel real,” she wrote. “All for the Bronx and Queens.”
