New Connecticut governor busts out dancing moves at his inauguration ball

Connecticut’s new Gov. Ned Lamont (D) was seen busting some dance moves at his inauguration ball on Wednesday night.

Chris Soto, a former Connecticut state representative who resigned to serve as legislative affairs director for the governor, shared a video of Lamont dancing in his tuxedo.

“Get yourself a Governor like @NedLamont who isn’t afraid to live his best life and dance like no one is watching,” Soto wrote on Twitter.

The video had nearly 40,000 views as of Thursday afternoon.

Lamont succeeded Gov. Dan Malloy (D), who left office because of term limits.

{mosads}The former businessman was sworn into office after beating out his Republican rival, Bob Stefanowski, in an unexpectedly close race during the November midterm elections.

Lamont made headlines in the Connecticut political scene when he defeated former Sen. Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary in 2005. Lieberman then ran in the general election as an independent and won.

He also made a previous run for governor in 2010 but lost the Democratic nomination to Malloy by a 15-point margin.
