Barack Obama wishes Michelle a happy birthday: ‘You’re one of a kind’

Former President Barack Obama wished his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, a happy birthday on Thursday.
Posting a throwback photo of the two as a young couple, the former president wrote on Instagram: “I knew it way back then and I’m absolutely convinced of it today — you’re one of a kind.”
Michelle Obama, who turned 55 on Thursday, also received online birthday wishes from former presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett, who called her “an extraordinary role model for us all.”
Happy Birthday, @MichelleObama . What an extraordinary journey your life has been, and will continue to be. The quintessential American story. Thank you for being an extraordinary role model for us all. I am so proud of you, my dear friend.

Michelle Obama has remained in the spotlight since her husband left office, and last year published her memoir, “Becoming.”
The book was an instant best-seller, selling millions of copies in its first few weeks of publication. It was announced Wednesday that “Becoming” has had the longest run as Amazon’s best-selling book since “Fifty Shades of Grey” in 2012.
