Singer Chris Brown was arrested in Paris Monday after being accused of rape, the Associated Press reports.

The 29-year-old and two others are in custody after a rape complaint was filed by a woman who reportedly met them last Wednesday.

Brown's management did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment on the allegations.

The detention was originally reported by French gossip magazine Closer.

Brown has had repeated legal troubles since pleading guilty to the felony assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He completed probation for that case in 2015.

In 2013, Brown was arrested and charged with felony assault after an altercation outside of a Washington, D.C., hotel. The charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor.

Brown was also arrested in July of 2018 on a felony battery charge stemming from an alleged attack on a man who tried to photograph him in April of 2017.

He is still awaiting trial for that case after pleading not guilty.
