Earlier this week, “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert launched a petition urging the 26-year-old performer to offer the rebuttal to the annual address.
{mosads}The post has been retweeted nearly 30,000 times since Wednesday.
The move by the CBS host came after Cardi B, who was born Belcalis Almanzar, made headlines in recent weeks for her impassioned, expletive-ridden remarks about politics.
In a message to conservatives earlier this week, Cardi B said Trump’s supporters should acknowledge that the president is “f—in up this country.”
On Friday, Trump announced he would back a short-term funding bill to reopen the federal government that doesn’t include funding for his proposed border wall between the United States and Mexico.
Cardi B knocked Trump following the announcement, agreeing with a Twitter user that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had “dog walked” the commander in chief.
