NBA players LeBron James and Kevin Durant both wore jerseys in support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick on Super Bowl weekend.

Kaepernick tweeted photos of the two players, who were both wearing his limited edition “#ImWithKap”jerseys, in a pair of tweets on Saturday morning.

“Thank you to my Brother @KDTrey5 for rockin with me, especially this week!” Kaepernick said in a shout out to Durant, while also posting series of flames in another tweet thanking James.

Kaepernick began selling the limited edition jerseys last year, a week after Nike announced the player would be the face of its latest ad campaign during the summer.

The sportswear brand's decision prompted a whirlwind of criticism from conservatives at the time -- many of whom destroyed their Nike products and vowed to boycott the company.

Kaepernick was the first NFL player to protest racial inequality and police brutality by taking a knee during the national anthem before games in 2016. He was frequently targeted by Trump and his base for protesting during the national anthem.

He became a free agent when the 2016-17 season concluded and has not been signed by an NFL franchise since.

He later filed a grievance against NFL owners in 2017 and claimed they colluded to keep him out of the league.
