"Spare everyone your bullshit Alec!" the president's eldest son tweeted on Monday night, while drawing attention to Baldwin's past actions, such as reportedly tweeting homophobic slurs at a journalist.

The "SNL" episode, in which Baldwin impersonated Trump's Friday announcement from the Rose Garden of the national emergency declaration, also drew the president's ire.

"Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution?" the president tweeted. "Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!"

Baldwin responded by questioning whether the president's tweet about him "constitutes a threat" to him or his family's safety.

Baldwin has portrayed Trump on the sketch-comedy show throughout his presidency. The president on Friday declared a national emergency, a move designed to provide funding to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
