Kasie Hunt plans to celebrate Congress’s August recess in a different way this year — with a new baby.

The “Kasie DC” host and NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent announced her baby news Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I doubt it’s Michael Steele,” Hunt said with a laugh as she pointed to the former Republican National Committee chairman seated next to her.

“I’m expecting a baby in August,” Hunt revealed.

It’s the first child for 33-year-old Hunt and her husband, Matt Rivera, who works for “Meet the Press.”

Hunt tells ITK she and her husband don't know if they're having a boy or girl, and she's looking forward to the "fun challenge" of decorating a gender-neutral nursery.

Asked whether she might have timed her due date to coincide with the recess, Hunt said, "A lucky coincidence, I suppose! Everyone tells me this is just the first step in realizing you have no control over anything once you have kids.”
