Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg thanked the United States women’s national soccer team for gifting her a jersey bearing her name that had been worn by defender Becky Sauerbrunn during the team’s SheBelieves Cup last month.

The associate justice sent the team a letter on March 29, which was made public when Sauerbrunn shared a photo of it on Twitter on Friday.

“For the surprise package received today, huge thanks,” Ginsburg said in the letter. “I am proud to be among the women chosen for recognition in the 2019 SheBelieves game against England.”

“The jersey will be my favorite for the biweekly workouts that keep me in shape,” she added.

Sauerbrunn captioned the photo “Notorious,” a play on the justice’s “Notorious RBG” nickname.

Sauerbrunn wore the jersey on March 2 during the SheBelieves Cup match against England. At the time, every player on the team was wearing a jersey that showed the name of a woman who inspired them.

Serena Williams, Beyonce Carter-Knowles, Jennifer Lawrence and Cardi B were among the women the players chose to honor with their own jerseys.

“She’s a complete rock star. Dissenting opinion, battling cancer and then showing up to vote," Sauerbrunn said of Ginsburg then. "What can’t she do? I just think she’s amazing.”
