MSNBC host Katy Tur on Saturday welcomed a baby boy, months after announcing her pregnancy on air.

Kasie Hunt, the NBC reporter filling in for Tur, said Tuesday that the child, Theodore "Teddy" Dokoupil, was born Saturday.

"Katy and her husband, Tony, welcomed this little guy into the world on Saturday morning. Theodore 'Teddy' Dokoupil weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces. He stretches nearly 20 inches. Mom, dad and tiny Teddy are all doing great," Hunt said.

Tur in December announced on air that she was pregnant with her first child. Her husband, CBS correspondent Tony Dokoupil, has two children from a previous marriage.

"I have a baby in my belly, officially," she said at the time. "I’m tired of the tweets asking, so I am going to announce it. That is my little guy. He’s due in April."
