Rapper Kodak Black was arrested while trying to cross into New York from Canada, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

Law enforcement officials told the AP the arrest was made on drug and weapons charges.

Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was reportedly driving two other individuals in a Cadillac Escalade across the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge Wednesday evening.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection told AP that the men said told border agents that they had marijuana and firearms. Black was reportedly found to have marijuana, and a loaded Glock 9mm pistol was discovered in the vehicle. No one in the car had a permit for the pistol.

The 21-year-old Florida rapper was reportedly arrested on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Black, who also faces a charge in South Carolina of first-degree criminal sexual misconduct on allegations he raped a woman in 2016, was arraigned and placed in county jail.

He was released on $20,000 cash bond Thursday morning, and exited jail covering his face with a stack of cash, TMZ reported.

His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.
