TMZ shared footage from 4:30 a.m. of vandals appearing to cover the star with black paint and writing the reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin in white.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce told The Hill that a cleaning crew was sent out by the Hollywood Property Owners Alliance to remove the paint at no cost shortly after it was discovered.

The Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, filed a police report.

Trump received the star in 2007 for his role on NBC’s “The Apprentice,” but it has been targeted by vandals and artists several times since his election in 2016.

The star has been completely destroyed and replaced twice, including with a pickaxe in July.

“Any star that is vandalized no matter whose it is will be repaired,” a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce told The Hill.

The West Hollywood City Council approved a proposal last year urging the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove Trump’s star, though the chamber had said in the past that it would never remove stars.

“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees,” a spokesperson said in a statement. "When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.”
