Duckworth tweets photo of female senators showing up first for committee quorum: 'Women getting it done!'

"Guess who were the first Senators to show up for Senate Armed Services Committee quorum?" Duckworth asked on Twitter.


The number of women in Congress hit a record high this year, with 127 female lawmakers.

A quarter of the Senate is now constituted by women. Seventeen of those 25 are Democrats and eight are Republicans.

There are eight female members on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
