“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek on Wednesday revealed a "mind-boggling" update on his cancer treatment, saying he is "near remission."

“The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory ... some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent," Trebek, 78, told People magazine. “It’s kind of mind-boggling."

Trebek announced his cancer diagnosis on-air in March.

“Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer,” Trebek said into the camera.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from viewers of the long-time show, including lawmakers and even the CIA.
