Rapper Lil Nas X, who vaulted to fame earlier this year with "Old Town Road," appeared to come out as gay in series of tweets Sunday, the last day of Pride Month.

"Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone [f--- with me] no more,” he wrote. “But before this month ends I want y’all to listen closely to c7osure,” adding a rainbow emoji

The track referenced in Lil Nas X's tweet does not explicitly mention his sexuality, but does focus on coming clean and embracing yourself.

“Embracing this news I behold unfolding,” he sings, “I know, I know, I know it don’t feel like it’s time/But I look back at this moment, I’ll see that I’m fine."

Lil Nas X then tweeted a zoomed in photo of the 7 EP cover art, focusing on a building lit up with rainbow colors.

He also capitalized on a typo to make a joke about coming out as a "guy."

"it’s true i am a guy," Lil Nas X tweeted.

A source close to the rapper told CNN that the tweets and lyrics are indeed intended to refer to his sexual orientation.
