A Michigan couple reportedly celebrated their nuptials with a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) wedding, complete with a seemingly bipartisan twist: their maid of honor is a Democrat.

Audra and Jeff Johnson tied the knot over the July Fourth weekend with a theme that doubled as an ode to President TrumpDonald John TrumpUSPS warns Pennsylvania mail-in ballots may not be delivered in time to be counted Michael Cohen book accuses Trump of corruption, fraud Trump requests mail-in ballot for Florida congressional primary MORE and his 2016 campaign slogan, according to CBS News. The bride wore an Andre Soriano-designed wedding gown sporting “Make America Great Again” on the front, with the commander in chief’s last name on the skirt.

But Audra Johnson told the network that despite the “MAGA”-centric “I do’s,” her wedding with her now-husband, a Marine, didn’t exclude opponents of the president. Her maid of honor, Johnson recalled, pushed back on sporting one of the Trump campaign’s signature bright red hats.

“She said, ‘You know I love you, but I don’t feel comfortable wearing a MAGA hat,' ” Johnson told CBS on Thursday. ”I said, ‘That’s fine, we can find you a plain red one to wear.' ”

“We were able to compromise on that,” Johnson said. She added, “We can believe differently but still very much love each other.”
