During the debate hosted by CNN on Wednesday night, Trump Jr. jokingly tweeted: “Comedy Central should really be the host of the next round of these debates.” 

It wasn’t long after his tweet that Comedy Central fired back at the president’s son with one of its own, saying: “Nah, last time there was a joke at a debate it became president.”

“If it's what you say, we love it, especially later in the summer,” the show tweeted.

The show’s joke alluded to a remark made by Trump Jr. in response to a Russian lawyer who had been offering damaging information on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonAre Democrats turning Trump-like? As of late Thursday morning, Trump Jr. has yet to issue a reply to either of the swipes from his page.
