Perlmutter and his wife have donated almost $600,000 to Trump's presidential campaign in 2019, according to Federal Election Commission records. The Perlmutters also regularly donate to conservative causes.

Several celebrities, such as Chrissy Teigen and Billy Eichner, have also led calls to boycott SoulCycle and Equinox. SoulCycle has distanced itself from Ross's politics, saying in a statement that "no company profits are used to fund politicians."

Hammer, who has not appeared in a Marvel movie, also often posts commentary about policy issues like gun reform on his Twitter feed. He voiced the character The Lone Ranger in the video game "Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes" in 2014, prior to Perlmutter's tenure.

Marvel Entertainment is separate from Marvel Studios, which produces movies like "Avengers: Endgame," the highest grossing movie ever. It handles licensing deals including toys and games.
