George Lopez and Edward James Olmos pay hospital visit to El Paso shooting victims

Actors George Lopez and Edward James Olmos paid hospital visits to victims of the recent mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, that left 22 people dead earlier this month.

Olmos tweeted a photograph of him and Lopez visiting one of the shooting survivors at a local hospital in El Paso on Thursday.

“Celebrating life with the survivors of El Paso,” Olmos wrote in the tweet. “Find a way of helping and uniting with the families of those that lost family members and survivors and their families of Dayton and El Paso. Find ways of helping!”

In the photo, Lopez could be seen wearing a shirt that read, “El Paso Fuerte” (or El Paso Strong). According to a local Fox affiliate, Olmos also wore a pin during the visit bearing the same message.

The two Hispanic celebrities reportedly visited shooting survivors at two hospitals in El Paso on Thursday: the Del Sol Medical Center and the University Medical Center of El Paso.

{mosads}Earlier this month, El Paso captured national headlines after a gunman opened fire in a local Walmart, killing 22 people and injuring even more.

Twenty-one-year-old Patrick Crusius, the suspect behind the shooting who recently told police “I’m the shooter,” also reportedly told police he was targeting “Mexicans” after the massacre.
