Rosario Dawson confirms Booker endorsement after suggesting she doesn’t back a candidate

Actress Rosario Dawson confirmed her endorsement of boyfriend Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-N.J.) presidential campaign after telling an interviewer she “wasn’t going to be behind any particular candidate.”
“For the record I, of course, endorse @CoryBooker. Anyone writing otherwise clearly hasn’t been paying attention. My focus this election is on voter registration and the census,” Dawson tweeted Monday.
For the record I, of course, endorse @CoryBooker. Anyone writing otherwise clearly hasn’t been paying attention. My focus this election is on voter registration and the census. Proud to celebrate 15 years with @votolatino and support folks in using their voice and being counted!

Her tweet came after Dawson told Variety, “Regardless of Cory, I wasn’t going to be behind any particular candidate this election … I really just want to be behind the electorate.”
Dawson also told the publication that dating the New Jersey senator, who has spoken of “geeking out” about the actress’s role as nurse Claire Temple in several Marvel TV series, “was like I’m dating Captain America, I mean he’s just such an amazing, brilliant, kind, empathetic, beautiful, loving human being.”
Dawson was a top surrogate for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) 2016 presidential campaign. Sanders and Booker are both competing for the 2020 Democratic nomination.
