Actor and professional wrestler John Cena this week joined the fight against the raging wildfires in California.

Cena, 42, tweeted a video Monday in which he said that he will donate $500,000 to the first responders who are battling the swelling fires.

Cena plays a first responder himself in the upcoming film, "Playing with Fire."

Cena asked Paramount Pictures, the parent studio of the film, to decide where his donation should go.

The film studio said in a tweet that Cena's donation would be split between the California Fire Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

As of Monday night, the Getty Fire, in the hills north of L.A.'s famous Getty Center, has consumed more than 650 acres of land and has forced the evacuation of over 7,000 homes, according to USA Today.

The Kincade Fire in Northern California, meanwhile, has been raging since last Wednesday, reportedly causing nearly 200,000 people to be displaced.
