Ted Cruz weighs in on Beto O’Rourke’s new look: ‘Nice beard’
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) joked about former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s post-campaign beard Wednesday.
“nice beard,” Cruz remarked, sharing a tweet from CBS News White House reporter Kathryn Watson with a photo of O’Rourke, who dropped out of the crowded slate of Democratic 2020 presidential candidates earlier this year.

Cruz has also sported a beard while in office for over a year now.
{mosads}Todd Gillman, the Washington bureau chief for the Dallas Morning News, pointed out earlier this week that “100% of Texas nominees for US Senate last year are currently sporting beards.”

Many others were also quick to take to social media to comment on O’Rourke’s beard. Vox author Matthew Yglesias tweeted “Beard Beto could’ve won the primary, Americans have been yearning for a bearded president.”

Supporters, critics and those on the fence about the beard also weighed in online.

Beto’s beard is good. I will be taking no questions at this time and appreciate everyone’s respect of my privacy.
