Singer and rapper Lizzo volunteered at an Australian food bank during her tour of the country amid devastating wildfires that have killed at least 25 people and 480 million animals, Foodbank Australia said in a Facebook post.

“Beautiful Lizzo stopped by our Foodbank Victoria warehouse today to thank our hardworking team and vollies who have been working tirelessly for the past 6 days,” Foodbank Australia wrote on Facebook. “What a [star emoji] she even packed hampers for fire-affected regions. Thank you for the support.”

The multiple Grammy nominee, who performed at the Sydney Opera House earlier in the week, volunteered as Australians are urgently in need of food relief because of the ongoing wildfire crisis. Foodbank Australia touted her appearance to appeal to the public for donations and assistance.

“With roads in the area cut off, many Victorian families are isolated - without food, water, electricity, or communication. Foodbank Victoria sent life-saving food and water to Mallacoota by sea to assist,” Foodbank Victoria said on its website.

Numerous celebrities and entertainers have pledged aid amid the fires, including Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, who has pledged $1 million to relief efforts, and Elton John, who also pledged $1 million during a Sydney concert.
