Cruz ‘impresses’ his daughter with Chris Evans meeting

Sen. Ted Cruz is joining forces with a superhero — getting some face time with “Captain America” star Chris Evans at the Capitol.
The Texas Republican tweeted on Wednesday that he met with the 38-year-old actor, managing to score some major cool dad points with his excited daughter.
Just sat down for an interview w/ @ChrisEvans Really nice guy. Caroline came up to DC to meet him. Almost nothing in the Senate impresses an 11-year old; introducing her to Captain America was pretty awesome! pic.twitter.com/PWK5Os9yL3

The star power-filled sitdown was part of Evans’s forthcoming political website, a Starting Point. The mission for the site that Evans — a vocal critic of President Trump — is co-founding is to create “informed, responsible and empathetic citizens.”
ITK hears Cruz is a big-time “Captain America” and “Avengers” fan, even going so far as to name his Anheuser-Busch brew “Ale-vengers” when he participated in a congressional beer competition last year.
