Rage Against the Machine is embracing the meme that shows proper hand-washing technique set to song lyrics, showing how fans can sing along to "Killing in the Name" while taking a practical step to avoid the coronavirus.

The band tweeted out the hand-washing instructions matched up with the lyrics to their song with the caption “Washing in the name of…”

“On this occasion it’s best to do what they tell ya,” the band tweeted.

The meme directs users to spend a minimum amount of time getting clean while demonstrating proper hand-washing technique. Traditionally, people have been told that the length of time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday to You" is how long a decent hand-washing should take.

Similar memes and tutorials have been spreading on the internet as the world faces more than 113,000 cases of coronavirus. Officials have encouraged people to wash their hands correctly and for a longer amount of time to prevent them from getting the virus.

Most patients recover from the coronavirus, but it has killed more than 4,000 people worldwide, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
