Britney Spears offers to help three 'struggling' fans during Coronavirus pandemic
Pop star Britney Spears took to social media this week promising to help three fans who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic who cannot afford food and other essentials.
“So our world is going through such hard times right now, and my sister just nominated me to help people, whether it’s with food or I’m getting your child diapers or whatever it is, DM me, and I will help you out,” Spears said in a video shared to Instagram Friday.
Spears’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, nominated her to participate in the #DoYourPartChallenge, a tag that is trending to encourage celebrities and others online to donate or help others during the global pandemic. Once nominated, the nominee is tasked with recruiting three others to participate.
Spears nominated actor Will Smith, her boyfriend Sam Asghari and Cade Hudson, a talent agent, the New York Daily News reported.
The “…Baby One More Time” singer joins a slew of other celebrities who have donated and taken to social media to raise awareness about the coronavirus pandemic.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively pledged to donate $1 million to two food banks to help older adults and low-income families who are struggling amid the pandemic. Kevin Bacon called on people to share photos of themselves using the hashtag #IStayHomeFor in an effort to encourage people to stay at home to slow the spread of the virus, among others.
Coronavirus has infected nearly 300,000 people worldwide, and at least 12,784 have died amid the pandemic.
