Matthew McConaughey plays virtual bingo with Texas senior living facility
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey made a video appearance for a Texas senior living facility over the weekend, hosting a virtual bingo game for residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living facility.
McConaughey was joined by family members, including his wife and model Camila Alves, as well as his mother Kay and his children. Residents of the facility thanked the movie star in a video, saying they were "continu[ing] to turn a red light into a green light," in reference to a video he tweeted about efforts to flatten the infection curve of the coronavirus pandemic.
The actor, a native of Uvalde, Texas, has appeared in various public service announcements encouraging Texans to abide by social distancing protocols. He appeared in a TV spot with Austin Mayor Steve Adler (D) and Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt (D) titled "Be A Lot Safer If You Did," a play on his iconic line in Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused," and voiced a PSA pushed by Gov. Greg Abbott (R).
