Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) will join a conversation on Instagram Live Thursday evening to discuss gerrymandering and voter suppression efforts in the U.S.

In a press release, Abrams announced that she would talk with author Ben Sheehan, writer of "OMG WTF Does the Constitution Actually Say?," to discuss the state of voting rights in the U.S. as well as Abrams's new book, "Our Time is Now." The conversation will be hosted by Sheehan on his Instagram page.

Abrams made headlines in 2018 when she refused to concede her race against Gov. Brian Kemp (R), who was secretary of state at the time, alleging that state efforts to remove thousands of voters from Georgia voter rolls had swayed the election in his favor.

She has more recently been considered a contender to serve as a running mate for former Vice President Joe BidenJoe BidenBiden says his faith is 'bedrock foundation of my life' after Trump claim Biden clarifies comments comparing African American and Latino communities Kanye West may have missed deadline to get on Wisconsin ballot by minutes: report MORE (D) as he has become the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Abrams said last month that she had not been contacted by Biden's camp about a vetting process for the vice presidential nomination, but has repeatedly touted her strengths as a candidate in recent months.

“I have the capacity to attract voters by motivating typically ignored communities,” she said in April. “I have a strong history of executive and management experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. I've spent 25 years in independent study of foreign policy. I am ready to help advance an agenda of restoring America's place in the world. If I am selected, I am prepared and excited to serve.”
