Steph, Ayesha Curry to be recognized by the Congressional Hunger Center

WE HEAR: Stephen and Ayesha Curry will be among the honorees at a virtual awards ceremony from a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit for their work fighting hunger.

The Golden State Warriors star and his cookbook author wife, along with their Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, are poised to be recognized by the Congressional Hunger Center — an organization founded by a bipartisan group of lawmakers in 1993 — on Wednesday for its 2020 Hunger Leadership Awards. Additional recipients include Rep. Barbara LeeBarbara Jean LeeSteph, Ayesha Curry to be recognized by the Congressional Hunger Center Democrats unveil plan declaring racism a public health issue With Biden, advocates sense momentum for lifting abortion funding ban MORE (D-Calif.) and former Bread for the World President David Beckmann, among others.

"With rates of hunger skyrocketing across the U.S. due to the economic turmoil of COVID-19, and with food banks and pantries overwhelmed by the demand, it's easy to feel hopeless," Hunger Center Executive Director Shannon Maynard said in a statement. "Our award recipients are proving every day that hunger is solvable, through their hard work and dedication to the belief that no one should have to go hungry."
