Regina King accepts Emmy wearing Breonna Taylor shirt, urges viewers to vote
Regina King paid tribute to Breonna Taylor with a shirt bearing her image as she accepted her Emmy Award on Sunday.
The actress picked up an Emmy in the outstanding lead actress in a limited series or movie category for her role on HBO’s “Watchmen.”
As she delivered her speech, her T-shirt with Taylor’s face on it, and the message, “Say her name,” could be seen under her pink jacket.
Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman, was shot and killed in her home by a trio of plainclothes Louisville, Ky., police officers in March, a killing that has inspired months of protests nationwide.
Uzo Aduba also sported a shirt with the fallen certified EMT’s name as she accepted the Emmy for supporting actress in a limited series or movie for “Mrs. America.”

“Gotta vote,” King, 49, said as she held her award. “I would be remiss not to mention that.”
“Have a voting plan … vote up the ballot, please,” King continued.
“It is very important,” the performer and director added. “Be a good human,” she said, before honoring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died Friday.
“Rest in power, RBG,” King said.
