The New Jersey Democrat appeared Thursday on VICE TV's "Cari and Jemele (Won’t) Stick To Sports" talk show and was asked if he might have wrapped a diamond ring among the Xmas presents for the "Rent" actress.

"Wow. I already know the gifts I got her, and so I'm not getting her that, that I know," Booker exclaimed.

Co-host Cari Champion pressed Booker, saying, "The question in essence is will there be a diamond under the tree?"

"Oh I hear what you're saying," Booker replied. "No, not from me. No."

"You put me on blast worse than my mom does," he added with a laugh. "It's getting a little hot."

Dawson confirmed she was dating longtime bachelor Booker last year, ahead of his presidential bid. She had hit the campaign trail with him a year ago, before the 51-year-old lawmaker bowed out of the White House race in January.
