‘The View’s’ Sunny Hostin reveals in-laws’ deaths: ‘COVID is very, very serious’

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin revealed on air Friday that her in-laws, who were both physicians, have passed away from the coronavirus.
“We are in deep grief,” Hostin said.
Although she said her husband is “intensely” private, they decided to share the news from a public health standpoint.
Hostin urged viewers to take coronavirus precautions seriously, as her mother- and father-in-law were both “very careful” and still contracted the virus before dying over the holidays.
“COVID is very, very serious,” she said. “It is not a joke, it is not a hoax.”
Hostin called on viewers to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommended guidelines for virus protection, adding that despite contract tracing, it’s still not clear how her in-laws got the coronavirus.
