Alexis Ohanian tweets support for ‘greatest athlete’ Serena Williams

Alexis Ohanian is showing his support for his wife, Serena Williams, with a shirt declaring the tennis champion the world’s greatest athlete.
The Reddit co-founder tweeted a photo of himself Tuesday at the Australian Open — where Williams is competing — sporting a shirt bearing the tennis player’s image. The words “greatest female athlete” are seen in bold on the garment, with “female” crossed out.
The back of the $35 Nike shirt simply says the word “ever.”
The description for the T-shirt says, “Just months after earning her 23rd Grand Slam title in April 2017, Serena announced that she was 20 weeks pregnant — meaning that she’d been pregnant during her incredible win in Melbourne!”

It’s unclear if the sartorial message was a statement to Ion Tiriac, whom Ohanian had slammed hours earlier. The billionaire and Romanian Tennis Federation president, who had previously criticized Williams’s age and weight, reportedly said in December that if she “had a little decency she would retire.”
After the 39-year-old Williams advanced to her 40th Grand Slam semifinal on Tuesday, Ohanian called Tiriac a “racist” and “sexist” clown.
