Clinton praised the get-up, and shared a throwback of her own famed cold shoulder look.

"Shall we make this a trend?" she asked.

The former secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee wore her cold shoulder gown in 1993, at one of her first events at the White House as first lady.

"And like everything I do, it turned out to be controversial. I’m hardly a fashion icon," Clinton, 73, said in 2015.

"I wore this," Clinton said of the Donna Karan dress, "and a lot of the political pundits [said]: 'What is the meaning of this?' and everything. I thought it would be fun!"
