Biden and Garner, star of hit films such as "13 Going on 30," were originally scheduled to take their trip in March but had to reschedule due to severe weather as tornadoes ripped through the South.

The duo is expected to make pit stops in Birmingham to promote President BidenJoe BidenBiden taps California workplace safety leader to head up OSHA Romney blasts end of filibuster, expansion of SCOTUS US mulling cash payments to help curb migration MORE's American Rescue Plan as part of his administration's "Help is Here" tour. They are likely to focus specifically on the state's issues with childhood poverty, according to CNN.


The tour, designed to promote the president's $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, is mainly targeting swing states where competitive Senate races will be held in 2022.

In recent weeks, top administration officials have visited Pennsylvania, Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire, Georgia and Florida to discuss the American Rescue Plan.
