Jill Biden to visit Alabama with actress Jennifer Garner
First lady Jill Biden and actress Jennifer Garner are headed to Alabama on Friday, the White House announced Tuesday.
Biden and Garner, star of hit films such as “13 Going on 30,” were originally scheduled to take their trip in March but had to reschedule due to severe weather as tornadoes ripped through the South.
The duo is expected to make pit stops in Birmingham to promote President Biden’s American Rescue Plan as part of his administration’s “Help is Here” tour. They are likely to focus specifically on the state’s issues with childhood poverty, according to CNN.
The tour, designed to promote the president’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, is mainly targeting swing states where competitive Senate races will be held in 2022.
In recent weeks, top administration officials have visited Pennsylvania, Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire, Georgia and Florida to discuss the American Rescue Plan.
