The meetings come after Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, joined George Floyd’s family in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday as it pushed for lawmakers to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

Tuesday marked one year since former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd, 46, by kneeling on his neck for more than nine minutes during an arrest.

Floyd’s death, among others, led to nationwide protests over social justice and police reform in the country.

Lil Baby has close ties with the Floyd family, and he threw a surprise birthday party for Floyd's daughter Gianna in December, paying for all of the expenses.

Lil Baby also released a song called “The Bigger Picture” during that time, which earned him Grammy nominations for best rap song and best rap performance.

The Hill has reached out to Harris's office for comment.
