Bette Midler, one of former President TrumpDonald TrumpRealClearPolitics reporter says Freedom Caucus shows how much GOP changed under Trump Jake Ellzey defeats Trump-backed candidate in Texas House runoff DOJ declines to back Mo Brooks's defense against Swalwell's Capitol riot lawsuit MORE's most vocal Hollywood critics, is among this year's Kennedy Center Honors recipients.

The "Wind Beneath My Wings" singer and actor is one of five honorees who will be recognized at a Dec. 5 gala, the Kennedy Center announced Wednesday.

"Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels, songwriter Joni Mitchell, music executive Berry Gordy and opera singer Justino Díaz will also receive the prestigious award.

The 75-year-old Midler has railed against Trump frequently, calling him a "murderer" and "the biggest catastrophe to ever befall our poor nation."

In 2019, Trump dubbed her a "washed up psycho" for sharing a fake quote about him on social media.

Trump famously bucked tradition and skipped the Honors while in office. He originally opted out of attending the awards ceremony in 2017 after several of the entertainers being honored, including legendary TV producer Norman Lear and dancer Carmen de Lavallade, said they would avoid a White House reception typically held before the event in protest of the president.

The Kennedy Center said Wednesday that its annual gala would return to its Opera House this year. Last year's ceremony was delayed and largely filmed remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 44th Honors is poised to air on CBS at a later date.
