“Ok, I want to thank you all for the birthday wishes. It is in fact my birthday, and as a surprise we’re going indoor skydiving,” the New York Democrat, who turned 32 years old, said on an Instagram story.

The story also included footage of people skydiving at an indoor facility with a caption below saying “Omg x games up in here. I think these are people taking lessons? Def not first timers!”


In another Instagram story, footage of a person assumed to be Ocasio-Cortez skydiving was shared with a caption that read, “Yo @nasa I’m ready for my tryouts.”

The New York Democrat also took to Twitter to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and asked for advice for people in their 30s. 

“It’s been a pandemic almost the whole time so far, so belated advice appreciated,” she tweeted Wednesday.

The Twitter post led to a wide-ranging sometimes amusing, series of words of wisdom from users, including recommending she read a poem by English writer Rudyard Kipling, go to sleep earlier, eat fiber and practice self care.

Several lawmakers took to Twitter to say happy birthday to Ocasio-Cortez, including Sen.
