Duggar patriarch slams ‘woke left,’ ‘cancel culture’ on campaign website

Reality star and former politician Jim Bob Duggar is slamming “cancel culture” on his campaign website for the Arkansas Senate in the wake of child pornography charges brought against his son.

The “19 Kids and Counting” star, who previously served in the Arkansas House, last month announced his candidacy to fill the Senate spot currently held by longtime state Republican Sen. Lance Eads, who is resigning.

On a page titled “Why I’m Running,” Duggar defends his family as it deals with backlash over the arrest of his son Josh Duggar. The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty to the federal charges in April.

“I will not allow the liberal left, social media, or fake news to define me and my family,” Jim Bob Duggar wrote.

He added, “‘Cancel culture’ and the radical left want to keep us from being involved in politics.”

He specifically targeted President Biden, COVID-19 vaccine mandates and censorship from social media companies in his message.

“The liberals scream ‘it’s my body’ when they want to end the life of an unborn child but would gladly force mandatory vaccines upon everyone without hesitation,” he wrote.

Government leaders are acting like “dictators,” he argued.

“We must fight the Biden regime, the Democratic Party, and the establishment “RINO” Republicans who are pushing this Marxist agenda!” he added.

Jim Bob Duggar’s campaign comes months after TLC canceled the family’s spinoff show, “Counting On,” following Josh Duggar’s arrest. If convicted, Josh Duggar could spend up to 20 years in prison.
